The zebra looked right at me! (Eirian)

I'm really fortunate to have a very old (not like that, he's actually younger than me!), dear friend who lives and works in Nairobi. Me being in Kenya was just too good an opportunity to miss, and Andy came up to the Sopa Lodge so that we could catch up (a quick aside - a monkey has just jumped up onto the table where I'm sitting outside and pinched biscuit crumbs off the table - wasn't quick enough with my camera, unfortunately, so didn't get a photo! Oh well, I'll try and get a good monkey photo later - they roam around like cats would at home!)
Where was I? Oh yes, Andy. He was kind enough to take me and Mike out to a private game reserve for the afternoon ... well, there aren't the words to describe it. It was truly awesome. First we went down to a lake, where there were some beautiful flamingos , the photo here really doesn't do it justice - again, I took some video footage of them taking off, and will endeavour to post it when I work out the technical wrinkles. The photo on the right here is of a hippo - honestly!!
We then drove further on to a game reserve around a volcanic crater (stunning!) , found lots of lumps of Obsidian, and saw the most amazing range of animals:

  • Antelopes
  • Dik-Diks
  • Eland
  • Zebra
  • Impala
  • Warthogs
  • Giraffes
  • Jackals
  • Monkeys
  • Frogs
  • Hippo
  • Fish Eagles
Rather than waffle on and say loads of unhelpful things, enjoy the photos!
